It will provide a forum for strong and intelligent debate among the leading mayoral candidates in the October municipal election. The debates are intended to spark real debate – not mere political zingers – about complex, important issues that the candidates would face if elected the next mayor of Toronto.
Four of our city’s major community-building organizations have come together to present debates on some of the key areas of concern that Toronto’s next mayor will have to address. Each institution grapples with some of the most pressing challenges in our city — from promoting economic, cultural and community strength, to addressing neighbourhood wellbeing.

In 2009, $2.6 million was raised nationally through SuperWalk, helping fund 16 new research programs as well as providing resources for education, advocacy and support services to the over 100,000 Canadians living with this debilitating disease. This year it is our goal to raise $3 million, $900,000 of which is hoped to come from generous supporters in Central and Northern Ontario.
